Nonjabulo Sokhela is an accomplished professional in the green economy, with a strong track record in driving socio-economic transformation through strategy development and execution, particularly within disadvantaged and remote communities. Her expertise spans across areas such as green skills capacity building, enterprise development, energy-sector business development and the alignment of initiatives with both South African policy frameworks and international benchmarks such as the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). With a diverse background in technical, business development and executive roles in the renewable energy sector, Nonjabulo currently serves on several strategic platforms, including the National Business Initiative’s Just Energy Transition Committee, the South African Photovoltaic Industry Association (SAPVIA) PV Skills Technical Working Group and as an SDG7 Ambassador under the SDG7 Youth Constituency, a United Nations-affiliated body. She holds a qualification in Logistics Management from the University of Johannesburg, a Postgraduate Certificate in Strategic Supply Chain Management from the University of London and a Business and Management Development qualification from the Gordon Institute of Business Science (GIBS). She is presently completing her MSc in Global Energy and Climate Policy at the University of London, underscoring her dedication to ongoing learning and leadership in global energy and climate issues. Under her leadership, Nepoworx has partnered with leading institutions such as the National Business Initiative (NBI), Harambee Youth Employment Accelerator and Dorper Wind Farm to implement impactful socio-economic and enterprise development programmes. Nepoworx was also selected by the United Nations SDG7 Youth Constituency as one of only 98 global projects to lead the implementation of the Just Energy Transition in Africa, an initiative Nonjabulo champions passionately as an SDG7 Ambassador. Through the training institutions and accredited assessment centres she leads as CEO, Nonjabulo ensures that young unemployed people (NEETs), professionals and women, particularly from underserved communities, are not left behind in the transition to a green economy.
