Melissa Fadzai Sikwila is the Executive Vice President of Project Development & Investments at Genesis Energy Holdings, where she leads the Group’s project development, investment strategy, capital formation and commercial growth initiatives across a diversified 4.5GW energy infrastructure pipeline spanning multiple African markets. A dual-qualified investment lawyer and seasoned energy executive, Melissa brings extensive experience in project finance, mergers and acquisitions, infrastructure development, trade finance and cross-border transactions. Throughout her career, she has advised on and structured complex commercial and investment transactions exceeding US$500 million, supporting the development of transformative energy and infrastructure projects across emerging markets. At Genesis Energy Holdings, she plays a pivotal role in originating, structuring and financing large-scale power, renewable energy and energy transition projects, while cultivating strategic partnerships with governments, development finance institutions, investors and industry stakeholders. 

Recognised as a thought leader in Africa’s energy transition, Melissa is a sought-after international speaker and climate advocate, having contributed to high-profile global platforms including the United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP), Africa Energy Forum and Powering Africa Summit. Her work focuses on advancing sustainable infrastructure investment, energy access, climate resilience and private-sector participation in Africa’s development agenda. Melissa holds qualifications from Brunel University London, London School of Economics and Political Science, Imperial College London and University of Cape Town and is currently pursuing executive education through Harvard Business School. This combination of legal, commercial and strategic expertise positions her at the forefront of delivering bankable energy solutions and unlocking investment opportunities that support Africa’s sustainable economic growth.
