Jarrod Lyons

Jarrod Lyons is a green economy specialist with over 15 years of experience in sustainable development, investment promotion and industrial strategy. He has played a leading role in attracting green technology investors and energy developers into South Africa, particularly through his recent work as Executive of Business Development at the Atlantis Special Economic Zone Company (ASEZCo). There, he developed financial models, negotiated investor agreements and led the rollout of strategies to establish a greentech manufacturing cluster. With a background in science and a Master’s in Molecular and Cell Biology from the University of Cape Town, Jarrod blends technical insight with commercial acumen. His career spans roles at GreenCape and Wesgro, where he championed green infrastructure investment and policy engagement across sectors including renewable energy, waste, water and agriculture. Jarrod is committed to unlocking the potential of sustainable development to drive economic growth, local job creation and long-term resilience.
